Thane infrastructure development: the projects that matter
Thane is getting a road tunnel to Borivali, four metro projects, an elevated freeway to Ghatkopar, a coastal road and a bullet-train station. Two of the biggest, the tunnel and Metro Line 4, meet at Manpada.

From the outskirts to the core of MMR
Thane was once the edge of Mumbai: the terminus of India's first passenger train in 1853, then a dormitory town on the Central line. These projects put it at the centre of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region instead, with direct links west to Borivali, south to Ghatkopar and Wadala, east to Bhiwandi and Kalyan, and on to Navi Mumbai and its airport.
The developer's presentation makes the same argument: as connectivity improves, the opportunity lies in bringing every part of life closer together. That is the case for a downtown in Thane, and for Godrej Downtown Avenue.
